We set up as a refuge for young girls, who would otherwise be in prison awaiting trial to prove their innocence against allegations of petty crime.

Our door has always been open and now, more than 40 years on, we offer shelter, care and the opportunity to develop new skills and knowledge to all of those in need.

Our aim is for self-sufficiency. We use alternative technologies and are discovering sustainable ways to beat the poverty that is threatening to destroy our unique environment and culture.
